IISER Bhopal Organises Safety Awareness Event to Equip New Students with Essential Safety Skills
IISER Bhopal recently organised a Safety Awareness Event for newly joined students of BS, BS-MS, BTech, MSc, I-Ph.D., and Ph.D. programs, aiming to instill a strong sense of safety, responsibility, and preparedness from the outset of their academic journey.
Event Highlights:
š¹Fire Safety Talk and Demonstration conducted by Mr. Shakti Kumar Tiwari, Fire Instructor from the Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade, Bhopal. Mr. Tiwari provided valuable insights into fire prevention techniques, emergency response protocols, and everyday safety practices, equipping students with essential knowledge to handle potential hazards.
š¹A Lab Safety/ Chemical Safety talk was delivered by Prof. Joyanta Choudhury to create awareness about the working environment in the laboratories and to keep oneself Safe from the unwanted chemical hazards.
š¹A First Aid Basics/ CPR process talk was delivered by Dr. Mahesh Lachhwani in the presence of the Chief Safety Officer (Dr. Ravi Shankar Singh).
š¹Around 700 students have attended the Safety awareness event and learn about how to keep themselves and others safe while working in the laboratories.
Through such initiatives, IISER Bhopal continues its commitment to cultivating a safe, aware, and resilient campus environment for all.
